Education Concept

Taiwan has made remarkable progress in economic development in recent years and is actively promoting policies of internationalization to enhance the global mobility of its citizens. With an increasing number of multinational companies establishing a presence in Taiwan, there is a growing demand for professionals equipped not only with specialized knowledge but also with strong foreign language and intercultural communication skills. As one of the major international languages in Europe, German plays a key role in global trade, political dialogue, and international negotiations. The curriculum of our department is designed with a strong practical orientation and is structured around three key areas: translation, business communication, and German as a foreign language (DaF). Our goal is to cultivate graduates who possess the following core competencies: advanced proficiency in German listening, speaking, reading, and writing; practical business communication skills in German; intercultural competence with a focus on German-speaking countries; digital literacy and the ability to apply technology effectively; professional translation skills; and foundational knowledge in German language teaching. Through a comprehensive and diverse course design, we strive to equip students with the qualifications needed to thrive in various fields and to connect effectively with the global job market.
